Introduction of Lecturer:   

Yeo Joon Yoon是韓國梨花女子大學化學與納米科學學院教授。研究的主要方向:通過異源表達、組合式生物合成以及代謝工程等方法高效合成結構多樣性的天然產物。在生物合成領域的研究具有很深的造詣,迄今Yeo Joon Yoon教授在PNASJACSNPRNat. Chem. Biol.等雜志發表學術論文120余篇。目前擔任J. Microbiol. Biotechn.Appl. Microbiol. Biot.Biomed Res. Int.雜志編委,NPR雜志顧問委員會委員。 

Abstract: 

We are mainly working on characterization of the biosynthetic pathway and creating the structural diversity of natural products including polyketides and aminoglycosides through the combinatorial biosynthetic approach. Synthetic biology is a new area of biological research that combines science and engineering in order to design and build novel biological functions and systems. Combinatorial biosynthesis is one area of synthetic biology as well as chemical biology for the generation of novel natural products. The basic concept of combinatorial biosynthesis is combining metabolic pathways in different organisms on a genetic level. The synthetic biological approaches combined with combinatorial biosynthesis will allow us “the total biosynthesis of natural products”, which will eventually lead to the unlimited structural diversification of natural product, drug discovery, and mass production. Some recent examples for this chemical synthetic biology approaches will be presented.
